an innovative fusion of Bach and Piazzolla 

Famously, Bach wrote his Goldberg Variations for Count Keyserling whose sickly constitution resulted in terrible debilitating insomnia. The music-loving count specified that the work should be "of a smooth and somewhat lively character" so that he might be a little cheered in his sleepless nights - definitely not something intended to send him to sleep as is sometimes implied. John Lenehan's new arrangements  provide plenty of colour and variety and, coupled with Astor Piazzolla's  exploration of the expressive possibilities of the tango,  BATANGO! is a programme designed to entertain and delight all audiences from connoisseurs to insomniacs!
